About MARKET

What is MARKET? MARKET is a curated online marketplace where makers, growers, and artisans sell handmade, grown, and sustainably produced goods directly to conscious buyers. Every seller has their own shop — so when you shop here, you know exactly who made what you're buying.

What is the purpose of MARKET? MARKET exists to create a more handmade, local & sistainable world. We need a place where we can find the things we need, and a place to sell that align with our values. We create visibility for our crafters, and make it easier to sell your crafts.

Who is behind MARKET? MARKET is created and run by EARTH WEAVERS, a Danish regenerative community and membership organisation founded on matriarchal business principles and collective abundance. EARTH WEAVERS operates earthweavers.dk and all projects within its ecosystem, with the main purpose of creating a more handmade and sustainable world. We host monthly workshops to share skills in crafts and self-sufficiency. MARKET is here to create a living economy within the EARTH WEAVERS ecosystem — one rooted in fair exchange, community trust, and regenerative values. As a member of EARH WEAVERS you can attend workshops, produce things locally and sell them directly to your community.

What does "non-profit marketplace" mean? It means MARKET does not exist to generate profit for its operators. The small platform fee charged to buyers (2%) exists solely to cover payment processing costs (Stripe fees). Any surplus goes back into maintaining and developing the platform and organisation — not into anyone's pocket. Sellers keep 100% of their listed price.

For Buyers

Who can buy on MARKET? Anyone can browse and buy on MARKET. You do not need to be a member of EARTH WEAVERS to make a purchase.

How does the buying process work?

  1. Browse or search for products
  2. Open a listing and click Buy (or choose quantity if the seller offers multiple items)
  3. Enter your shipping details and proceed to payment via Stripe
  4. Pay securely by card
  5. You'll receive an order confirmation by email
  6. The seller is notified and prepares your order for shipping or pickup

What does it cost to buy on MARKET? The price you see on any listing is what you pay to the seller. A small platform fee of 2% is added at checkout to cover Stripe payment processing. This is not profit — it is the exact cost of running the payment infrastructure.

Is my payment secure? Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment providers. MARKET never stores your card details.

Can I pick up locally instead of having something shipped? Some sellers offer local pickup. Check the individual listing — if the seller has enabled pickup, you will see it as an option at checkout.

For Sellers

Who is eligible to sell on MARKET? To sell on MARKET, you must be an active member of EARTH WEAVERS. MARKET is not an open marketplace — it is a curated community space. Anyone can apply to sell on MARKET.

Who can join EARTH WEAVERS? EARTH WEAVERS is open to anyone — beginners as well as professionals — with an interest in crafts and self-sufficiency. Join here

What kinds of products can I sell? MARKET is built for handmade, grown, and sustainably produced goods. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Handmade textiles, clothing, and accessories
  • Ceramics, pottery, and home goods
  • Natural skincare, salves, and herbal products
  • Food, preserves, and grown produce
  • Art, prints, and illustrated works
  • Workshops and experiences
  • Digital products (guides, patterns, downloads)

All products must be made, grown, or curated by the seller themselves. Mass-produced or drop-shipped goods are not permitted.

What listing types are available? MARKET supports several listing types to fit different kinds of offerings:

  • Physical product — a tangible item shipped or picked up. You can set finite or infinite stock.
  • Digital product — a downloadable file, pattern, guide, or similar. Delivered digitally after purchase.
  • Workshop — a bookable session or event with a date, time, and optional seat limit. Supports hourly, daily, or fixed-duration bookings.
  • Booking — for bookable services or experiences, e.g. a farm visit, a consultation, or a custom order slot.
  • Free, donation-based, or contact — for listings that are free of charge, donation-based, or where buyers get in touch before any transaction, e.g. a commission.

How do I become a seller? The process has three steps:

  1. Create an account on MARKET Sign up with name, email, display name (brand/store name), password and phone number.
  2. Apply via the form — Fill in the seller application form Tell us about yourself and show us some of your work.
  3. Become a member of EARTH WEAVERS — Membership costs 250 DKK / month and gives you access to the full EARTH WEAVERS community on earthweavers.dk, as well as the right to sell on MARKET. Join here
  4. Start listing your products on MARKET — After your application has been reviewed, you will receive and email, that you have been granted acces to post listings.

How much does it cost to sell on MARKET? Selling on MARKET requires an active EARTH WEAVERS membership at 250 DKK / month. There is no listing fee and no commission taken from your sales. Buyers pay a 2% platform fee at checkout to cover payment processing — you receive 100% of your listed price.

How do I connect Stripe to receive payouts? Once your seller account is created, go to Account settings → Payout details*. You will be guided through a Stripe Connect onboarding flow where you enter your bank account information (IBAN). This step is required before any of your listings can go live. Once connected, Stripe handles all payouts directly to your bank account on their standard schedule.

How do I add products? After connecting Stripe, go to your seller dashboard and click Create product. Choose the listing type that fits your product, then fill in the required fields:

  • Title and description
  • Price
  • Stock (how many you have available, or set to infinite)
  • Delivery options — shipping (you set the fee) and/or local pickup
  • Photos (They will be shown in the dimensions 1:1 on the shop, and in the order you upload them)

Once published, your listing is immediately visible on MARKET.

Note: If you skip payout details during listing creation, you can add them later under Account settings → Payout details. Your listings will not be available for purchase until Stripe is connected.

How does an order work once a buyer purchases something?

  1. A buyer completes checkout and payment via Stripe
  2. You receive an email notification with the order details
  3. View and manage the order in your inbox under As a provider
  4. Prepare and ship the item (or arrange pickup)
  5. Mark the order as shipped/completed in your inbox
  6. Stripe releases the payout to your bank account on their standard schedule

Can I offer both shipping and local pickup? Yes. When creating a listing, you can enable both shipping and local pickup. Buyers choose their preferred option at checkout. You set your own shipping fee per listing.

What happens if I cancel my EARTH WEAVERS membership? Your seller account and listings on MARKET will be deactivated. Any pending orders at the time of cancellation should be fulfilled before leaving. You are always welcome to reapply in the future.
